Mission President

President Jim M. Wall & Sister Constance M. Wall

We have been serving since July 1, 2011 and we would like to tell you a little bit about us and our family. We met as students at Brigham Young University – one of those wonderful BYU romances! – and, following our marriage in the Salt Lake Temple, we settled in Everett, Washington, President Wall’s hometown. Our five children - Kristen, Jeffrey, Scott, Marcus and Brianne - were all born there. President Wall, whose career is newspaper publishing, worked for many large national newspaper companies to improve their performance.  With these new jobs, we started moving around. We then had the opportunity of living in Mesa, Arizona; Dallas, Texas; Las Cruces, New Mexico; Pittsfield, Massachusetts; Denver, Colorado; and then Salt Lake City, where he was employed as the Publisher of the Deseret News and Church News.

President Wall gave up jogging a few years ago to become an avid cycler. He loves cruising the canyons around Salt Lake, as well as some major cycling races like Ride the Rockies (five days in the Rocky Mountains) and the STP (the 208 miles between Seattle and Portland – in one day!) He got slowed down a little after a personal encounter of bike vs. car, but still loves to hit the road on his bike, now in Louisiana! He also enjoys theater, “oldies”, and racquetball. Sister Wall adores flowers, music, reading, shopping and decorating with a different theme every month – which livens up the Mission Home. Four of their children are married – one son is a hold-out ;–) - and they have seven grandchildren, the littlest just born May 11th!

We are thrilled to be in Louisiana, where the food is almost as great as the people, and over-whelmed and so honored to be called to serve as Mission President and wife. We are tremendously impressed by our missionaries, young and not-so-young, and their preparedness, diligence, spiritual maturity, and willingness to sacrifice to be here to share the Doctrine of Christ with the people in Louisiana. We love and respect each one, and are dedicated to our watch care over them. They are truly striving to be disciples of Jesus Christ and Preach My Gospel missionaries, and we love them so much.
